Welcome! Thank you for taking the time to be on this site. These first few posts will not be as lengthy as a normal blog post should be. I want to be as transparent as I possibly can to you, the reader. I am but a mere mental health therapist, I feel most comfortable talking to people face to face and making quick progress notes of sessions.
This is my first time trying to create a website of sorts where I can see people's comments and interact with those who might know me from other passion projects. What I mean by this is; that I started a podcast with one of my friends in July of 2021 titled O.K. Nerd Podcast.

The purpose of this podcast was for me to get my ideas out there of the things that I enjoy the most when it comes to the 'pop-culture' space. I am a Star Wars, Marvel, and DC fanatic. I love my collection of comic books which continues to grow with every convention I go to where I peruse various vendors to see what catches my eye. So if you are a listener there, then welcome. If you have never heard of me, the podcast- still going to this day- is fun but took a direction I was not pleased with. I wanted more, I not only wanted to talk about various comic book characters but I wanted to talk about my own 'characters.' I love stories, I love reading novels and short stories as much as I do comics. I had ideas brewing inside my mind of tales that I envisioned would be exciting to share, but I had no idea how to do it.
Until I had a lightbulb moment and challenged myself to start writing about a scene I had envisioned in my mind. This motivation came from reading a collection of short thrillers that I own written by Bram Stoker. This motivation grew as I not only wanted to continuously keep my eyes glued to the books that I own but also wanted to create one. I am no artist and I do not have a desire yet to create some superhero vigilante comic book. Instead, my desire has come from inspirations and themes from my favorite authors. I have decided to embark on this journey of writing short stories and novels in hopes that these ideas will reach audiences that appreciate the process and fun of creating what wanders in our imagination.
Although I have some experience putting my voice out there in the form of a podcast, I am learning new things every day, and this blog site venture is definitely a different beast. You will notice that some of the pictures that I use are AI, this is because right now I do not know an artist that I can commission. I will be posting pictures of myself, and screenshots of various rough draft paragraphs that I am currently working on in the future. You will see this blog site grow over time and hopefully, we will have the pleasure of interacting with one another to share ideas.

My inspirations come from the works of H. P. Lovecraft, Bram Stoker, Mary Shelley, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, Oscar Wilde, Herman Melville, and Taylor Anderson. The genres that I mostly want to focus on are horror, thriller, and dark fantasy. I am not opposed to other genres, but I want to start with a niche first and these are the genres that I enjoy the most. I hope you find some of these stories helpful and fun. I will also be posting podcast episodes on the O.K. Nerd Podcast of the stories I write in the beginning because I do have fun recording audio and I want it to be a way to reach more people. So look forward to reading and hearing about the analysis and breakdowns of what I have written. Also, as a way to keep the blog posts busy and to keep you coming back to see what is new, I am thinking about doing some book reviews. Something to have fun with and keep the creativity flowing as those who have come before us know way more than I do. I also hope that this could inspire you to create something with your imagination and artistic prowess, if I can do it then so can you! Let us have fun and see if I can go from a Joe Schmoe to a published author.
