Hello readers! I just want to make a quick update on the progress of my manuscript. The motives of the antagonists in my story have changed a bit. Originally, my idea for the reasons why they are evil was that they were evil incarnate, just hatred for hatred's sake. But as the story has progressed, I have realized that they would be more interesting if they had a reason behind their way of thinking. After speaking with one of my friends about this and running a few ideas by them, I have decided to do some rewriting and add more details about why the antagonists are the way they are. Do you think this should be done through flashbacks for exposition? Do you think this should be done through in-scene action as the story flows? Let me know!

Hello reader! Quick update: I have not posted anything in a long while. That is because I am currently not writing short stories but a novel. I am currently 34k words into it. For this being my debut novel, I am hoping to reach anywhere from 65k to 75k. In the meantime, I have made notes of other stories that I want to write about in the future. Thank you for your patience, and I will be more active here once I finish writing what I am currently writing.

Merry Christmas! I hope you are all doing well, and may peace be upon you. A bit of an update, so after my last post in October, I left the US, came back, and started moving to a new house. I have been adjusting to the move, and will start painting my rooms to give them a fresh coat of paint. I have been working more, trying to get my finances in order, and I have been writing the rough draft of my first novel. I think I should do more blog posts when I finish chapters, or just ideas of where the main story is going. Thank you for the support!

I apologize for the lack of stories this month. I bit off more than I could chew with closing on a new property and getting everything settled in with that, and only one friend submitted a story that I have yet to finish editing. I am also preparing to leave the country for November, so my writing has not been as consistent as I hoped it would be. I will try to post at least two stories, and hopefully that will suffice.

I hope you enjoyed the recent story, 'Your Beau.' I struggled to fit this idea into a manageable short story. As I was writing some parts, my mind was going in all different kinds of directions I could take this. I had to stop myself a few times and remind myself that I was trying to write a short story, not some full-length novel. The idea I had for writing this story is something I want to return to in the future, perhaps actually turning it into a long novel. Let me know what you think of it 😀
